Dr Chua is an Orthopaedic and Specialist Spine Surgeon at Mount Elizabeth Hospital. He is accredited at all the Parkway Group Hospitals including Mount Elizabeth Orchard, Mount Elizabeth Novena, Gleneagles Hospital and Parkway East Hospital. He is also accredited to practice at Mount Alvernia Hospital and Connexion (Farrer Park) Hospital. He is visiting consultant to various restructured hospitals in Singapore where he assists fellow surgeons in complex surgeries.

Dr Chua graduated from National University of Singapore in 2001 and after completing his orthopaedic specialist training, he advanced his spine surgery repertoire at The Krembil Neuroscience Centre, University of Toronto, after being awarded Health Manpower Development (HMDP) Scholarship by the Ministry of Health in 2009/10. Besides honing his technical expertise in complex spinal surgery, he was also involved in spinal cord injury and regeneration research and published several key articles and invited editorials in renowned international spine journals. He continues to serve on the editorial board of several peer reviewed journals.
Upon his return from formal spine fellowship, he was awarded the prestigious Depuy-Asia Pacific Orthopaedic Association Spine Travelling fellowship in 2010, where he was the lead member.
He continued to work in Changi General Hospital and was Deputy Chief of Spine Service in 2012.
Dr Chua believes in providing his patients with the best quality of care, in a friendly and approachable nature. His amicable nature has earned him many accolades from patients and he received the "Best Service Award" by Changi General Hospital in 2012.
Dr Chua is comfortable in all aspects of spinal surgery from sub-occipital, cervical, thoracic, lumbo-sacral and pelvic fixation, in both open and minimally invasive techniques. He routinely performs decompression, instrumented fusion and disc replacement surgery but he is especially sought after in Singapore for his expertise in complex spinal surgery.
Besides spinal surgery, Dr Chua is also well versed in many other non-spinal orthopaedic conditions including trauma and degenerative conditions of the limbs.
Today Dr Chua commits his clinical time to caring for his patients and his academic appointments with AOSpine as a faculty member. He continues his research collaborations with Peking Union Medical College, Beijing, as well as the alumni at the University of Toronto.
